An Inclusive Nursery for Every Child

We believe that all children deserve the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive in a warm and nurturing environment. Inclusion is not a policy at Alban — it is how we work every single day.

Our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) works alongside all staff to ensure that children with additional needs receive tailored support, using observation, specialist referrals and close partnership with families.

We have experience supporting children with autism, speech and language delay, physical needs and a wide range of developmental differences.

Our SENCO is Kaltrina Mustafa, Deputy Head, who holds a specialist SENCO qualification. If you have any concerns about your child's development or would like to discuss additional support, please reach out directly.

How we support you

What We Can Do

Initial Conversation

If you have concerns about your child's development, the first step is a relaxed conversation with our SENCO. There is no pressure or paperwork — just an honest chat about your child.

Observation & Planning

Our team observes all children closely via Tapestry. Where additional needs are identified, we create an individual support plan in partnership with parents.

Specialist Referrals

We work closely with speech and language therapists, health visitors and the Local Authority to ensure children get the specialist support they need.

EHC Plans

If your child has, or may need, an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, we will support you through the process and work directly with the Local Authority.

Language & Communication

We support children learning English as an additional language, and celebrate the linguistic diversity of our community. Makaton signing is used to support communication for all children.
